The RSL has given its permission for the support games at the Devonport Oval to start before noon with the senior game at 2pm and the senior clash between the Northern Bombers and South Launceston will start at 4.30pm.

The NTFL hopes to build on the tradition of Anzac Day clashes and for the past three years has scheduled town premiership games between Devonport-East Devonport and the Northern Bombers-South Launceston.

Both home clubs will hold Anzac Day ceremonies before the start of the senior game at both venues.

There will be renditions of the Last Post and the Ode To Fallen Comrades.

The Launceston RSL band will perform at Aurora Stadium and players and umpires at Devonport will be encouraged to wear black armbands.

¤¤¤ East Devonport coach Leon Perry yesterday said it was a football-related matter and not a family issue which had caused a split with his brother Dale.

The split happened three years ago and he said he and his brother regarded a story in The Sunday Examiner yesterday as causing unncessary anxiety to both of them.

“Any issues between us are much less important than the sanctity of our family,” he said.

The two brothers are opposed to each other as senior coaches for the first time at the Devonport Oval today.
